January 31, Fineko/abc.az. The discount rate in Azerbaijan is expected to affect deposit interest next year.

ABC.AZ reports that CBA chairman Taleh Kazimov said about this at the CBA press conference on the parameters of the discount rate.

He noted that there is currently enough liquidity in the market.

"We need time to sterilize this liquidity. Under conditions of high liquidity, Central Bank's interest rates do not work. Large funds in the accounts do not respond to our interest. We must maintain the volume of money at such a level that its value is in the corridor planned by the Central Bank. We are constantly working on improvement, introducing new tools as part of our work. Coordination with the Ministry of Finance is strong. I think starting next year we’ll see the impact of the discount rate on the deposit segment," he said.
