Weight of non-cash payments on card transactions to grow up to 70%

January 26, Fineko/abc.az. It is planned to increase the weight of non-cash payments in card transactions in Azerbaijan from current 55% to potentially 70%.

ABC.AZ reports that this is reflected in the Financial Sector Development Strategy for 2024-2026 approved by the Central Bank.

According to the document, it is expected to increase the weight of instant payments in the operations of the national payment system from current 0.39% to potentially 25%, as well as the weight of non-cash payments in retail trade from current 21.1% to potentially 40% and the weight of digital banking in customer transfers from current accounts from current 80% to potentially 90%.
