January 18, Fineko/abc.az. In 2023, the Azerbaijan State Oil Fund (SOFAZ) had to make 56% of transfers to the State Budget in foreign currency, ABC.AZ was informed at SOFAZ.

Last year, SOFAZ sold $3.47 bn (AZN 5.18 bn) at currency auctions held jointly with the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (foreign currency is transferred to the budget by converting into the national currency through an auction). And SOFAZ’s transfer to the budget amounted to AZN 11.737 bn. That is, the difference between them is AZN 6.556 bn.

"Part of the transfer to the State Budget was transferred in foreign currency, with the help of which the budget's obligations in relation to foreign currency were fulfilled," SOFAZ said.
