January 12, Fineko/abc.az. The market value of Microsoft Corp. exceeded the capitalization of Apple Inc. at the auction on January 11, which has not happened since November 2021, ABC.AZ reports, referring to MarketWatch.

The price of Microsoft securities rose by 0.9% during the session, while Apple shares fell by 1.1%. As a result, Microsoft's capitalization reached $2.87 trillion, while Apple's market value dropped to $2.86 trillion.

Over the past decade, Microsoft and Apple have shared the title of the most expensive U.S. company, according to Dow Jones Market Data. The only exception was a short period of 13 sessions in early 2019, when this title went to Amazon.com Inc.

The main positive factor for Microsoft over the past year is the company's leadership in the field of generative artificial intelligence, as well as the fact that a significant share of its revenue comes from corporate clients. At the same time, Apple has recorded a decline in revenue for four consecutive quarters.
