Additional sites for construction proposed for MIDA

January 9, Fineko/abc.az. During the development of the Master Plan to meet the housing needs of Baku, 125 hectares of land suitable for housing construction were defined at cooperation meetings between the State Committee for Urban Planning & Architecture and MIDA.

ABC.AZ reports that this is reflected in the Baku City Master Plan until 2040.

In order to meet the housing needs of young families with low and middle incomes, it is proposed to create modern living environment in these areas.

To create urban neighborhoods with sustainable and comprehensive opportunities in Govsan and Yasamal district of Baku, MIDA is implementing two housing projects on an area of 46 hectares with the aim of building housing at affordable prices. In addition, in parallel with the Urban Lakes Restoration Program, two new habitable plots are proposed on Zig Lake (about 29 hectares of land suitable for residential and multifunctional area) and on Boyukshor Lake (about 50 hectares of land suitable for residential area), to be implemented.

According to the forecast, by 2040 there will be a need for about 142,800 apartments.
