December 26, Fineko/abc.az. As of December 1, 2023, the assets of the Azerbaijani banking sector amounted to 46.172 billion manats.

ABC.AZ reports with reference to the Central Bank of Azerbaijan that the indicator is 1.5% more than on December 1, 2022 and 1.9% less than at the beginning of 2023.

The net loans to customers totaled 21.511 billion of banks' assets. Over Jan-Nov 2022, sector's loan portfolio grew by 16.5%, and the share of loans in assets increased from 40.6% to 46.6%.

The liabilities of the banking sector increased by 0.5% to 40.16 billion, and the deposit portfolio by 1.1% to 33.225 billion manats. Of them, 12.253 billion are deposits of individuals, and 20.972 billion manats are deposits of legal entities. During the year, population’s money in banks increased by 8.1%, while companies’ finances decreased by 2.6%.

Over Jan-Nov 2022, banks' liabilities to the CBA lowered 4.4-fold to 50.6 million manats.

The balance sheet capital of the sector grew by 8.9% up to 6.012 billion.
