December 15, Fineko/abc.az. Over Jan-Sept 2023, surplus (remainder) of $6.402 bn was formed on the balance of payments of Azerbaijan, ABC.AZ reports with reference to the Central Bank.

The balance of payments for Jan-Sept 2023 was mainly affected by favorable oil and gas prices, growth of non-oil/gas exports and positive trends in the movement of capital and finance.

The current account balance reached $6.7 billion, while the capital and finance account surplus - $400 million, and reserve assets increased by $6.4 billion. The average price of crude oil for this period was $83 per barrel, and non-oil/gas exports grew by 17% to $2.4 billion.
