November 1, Fineko/abc.az. With the support of international card organizations, operations with the use of tokens are widely used in Azerbaijan.

 

ABC.AZ reports that Central Bank’s general director Farid Osmanov stated about this during his speech at the VII International Banking Forum.

He noted that payments were activated through payment channels Apple Pay and Google Play.

“For the past 9 months of this year, the volume of transactions using tokens in Azerbaijan reached 1.9-2 billion manats. The share of token transactions in payments made using POS-terminals made up 27%. In contactless payments, preference is given to mobile devices,” Osmanov said.
