October 24, Fineko/abc.az. The Economic Zones Development Agency (under the Ministry of Economy) is considering projects on two new industrial enterprises in Azerbaijan, ABC.AZ reports, quoting agency's chairman of board Elshad Nuriyev.

He added that the first enterprise will produce raw materials for the metallurgical industry. The second will be a wood processing enterprise and production of finished products from it, which will become one of the leading in Europe, Nuriyev noted.

"In the near future, several more companies will receive resident status in industrial parks. The company in the metallurgical industry will be a joint venture, the bulk of the products will be exported abroad. If the projects are approved, the enterprises will be located either in the Sumgayit Chemical Industrial Park or in the Aghdam Industrial Park," he said.

Nuriyev pointed out that construction of 4-5 enterprises in the Aghdam Industrial Park will be finished in the near future.

"The enterprises will start working next year. These are mainly enterprises producing building materials, shoes, wallpaper," he said.
