Microsoft invests over $3 bn on its development in Australia

October 24, Fineko/abc.az. Microsoft Corporation will allocate $3.2 billion to develop its Australian division and expand infrastructure for super-scale cloud computing and artificial intelligence, ABC.AZ reports, quoting Prime Minister of Australia Anthony Albanese.

"Over the next two years, Microsoft will invest additional AUD$5 billion in development of company's Australian division to expand infrastructure for super-scale cloud computing and artificial intelligence, and plans to open nine new data centers in Sydney, Canberra and Melbourne," Albanese said.

The PM added that such "large-scale investments by Microsoft will help Australia become a world leader in cloud computing".

"In 2024, a new Microsoft data center academy will open, in addition, the corporation has pledged to cooperate with the electronic intelligence service in the creation of a national cyber defense system," Albanese specified.
