Central Bank of Türkiye may raise discount rate up to 35%

October 23, Fineko/abc.az. The Central Bank of Türkiye may raise the discount rate from 30% to 35% at its next meeting.

In a study conducted by the channel among 19 economists about expectations of the Central Bank of Türkiye, economists' expectations regarding the rate at the end of the year made up 40%, ABC.AZ reports with reference to TRT Haber.

Some time ago the Central Bank of Türkiye announced that it would continue to gradually tighten monetary policy until the inflation forecast changes. Now the value of the Turkish lira against the dollar has reached a historic low, and $1 has become equal to 28 liras.
