September 12, Fineko/abc.az. As of August 1, 2023, the number of salaried employees in the country's economy reached 1,706,500 people, including 891,700 people in the public sector and 814,800 people in the non-state sector of the economy.

ABC.AZ reports with reference to the State Statistics Committee that 19% of employees are involved in education, 18.7% - trade; vehicle repair, 12.8%- industry, 8.5% - health and social services for the population, 6.5% - public administration and defense; social security, 6.4% - construction, 4.3% - transport & warehousing, 3.7% - in the field of professional, scientific and technical activities, 3.5% - agriculture, forestry and fishing, 2.1% - financial and insurance activities, 14.5% - other sectors of the economy.

Over Jan-Jul 2023, average monthly nominal wage of employees in the country's economy grew by 11.3% versus Jan-Jul 2022 up to 925.3 manats. The average monthly salary was higher in the mining industry, financial and insurance activities, professional, scientific and technical activities, as well as in the field of information and communications.
