September 12, Fineko/abc.az. Foreign direct investments (FDIs) in Azerbaijan amounted to $3 bn in the 2nd quarter of this year.
ABC.AZ reports that Samir Nasirov, the director of the Central Bank’s Statistics Department, stated about this at a briefing.
FDIs decreased by 7.5% compared with Q2 of 2022.
At that, in the 1st quarter of 2023, the FDIs in the economy of Azerbaijan totaled $1.5 bn and in the 2nd quarter - $1.478 bn.
According to the balance of payments, 75.9% of FDIs is made in the oil & gas sector.
In the non-oil and gas sector, the FDIs amounted to $717.5, the share - 24.1%.
Top 5 of countries in terms of FDIs in the Azerbaijani economy includes: Great Britain - $896.477 million, Türkiye - $575.685 million, Cyprus - $384.565 million, Russia - $245.867 million and Iran - $191.8 million.
Top 10 of countries in terms of direct investments in Azerbaijan includes: Japan - $128.458 million, the Netherlands - $98.996 million, Hungary - $95.348 million, the USA - $79.778 million and Norway - $73.58 million.
