WB developed a new program on Turkish economy

September 7, Fineko/abc.az. The World Bank's Director for Türkiye, Umberto Lopez, stated his determination to accompany policies that stabilize the Turkish economy.

ABC.AZ reports that Lopez stated he expects to prepare and present operations for totally $35 bn to Türkiye in the next three years.

$18 bn of them are intended for new operations.

"We are determined to accompany Türkiye in pursuing policies that will stabilize the economy," Lopez said in a statement.

According to Lopez, in addition to the current $17 bn program, new operations worth $18 bn have been prepared over three years.

"We are waiting to present these operations to the World Bank Council. We believe the tightening of monetary policy carried out by TCMB, the measures taken by the Ministry of Finance and financing aimed at reducing the fiscal deficit are steps in the right direction," he emphasized.
