September 6, Fineko/abc.az. Qualcomm, an American developer of various chips, announced that it will supply chips for infotainment systems of premium cars manufactured by Mercedes-Benz and BMW.

ABC.AZ reports that Qualcomm closely cooperates with automakers, supplying them with hardware platforms for infotainment systems and driver assistance systems - partial autopilot.

Qualcomm's revenue in this area grew by 13% in the last quarter.

For BMW, the American chipmaker will supply platforms for voice control systems, and Mercedes-Benz E-class models with Qualcomm processors will go on sale in 2024.

Qualcomm plans to increase revenue from the automotive segment to $4 billion by 2026 and to $9 billion by the end of the decade.

The software and hardware solution of Snapdragon Digital Chassis allows automakers to implement driver assistance and autopilot functions, develop infotainment systems and organize connection to cloud resources.
