August 22, Fineko/abc.az. In January-July 2023, carriers in Azerbaijan served 1,041.1 million passengers.

The State Statistics Committee told ABC.AZ that 87.5% of passengers were transported by road, 11.9% by metro, and the rest by other transport means.

A total of 911.5 million passengers were transported by road, which is the largest share in terms of traffic in the transport sector, and an increase of 5.1% and 17.3%, respectively, was recorded compared to the same period of the previous year.

Some 95.0% of passengers used the services of buses, and 5.0% used fixed-route taxis. Passenger turnover increased by 17.0%.
