Canada imposes new sanctions against Russia

July 21, Fineko/abc.az. Canada has imposed new sanctions against Russia.

ABC.AZ reports that Canadian FM Melanie Jolie said that the government is imposing sanctions against another 39 individuals and 25 legal entities of the Russian Federation.

Among them are MTS, MegaFon, Tele 2, Tinkoff Bank, Yandex Pay, Beeline, Mir payment system, rapper Timati, singer Shaman, actor Ivan Okhlobystin.

The statement also says about the imposition of sanctions on individuals and legal entities associated with Wagner PMC. In particular, sanctions have been imposed against Ivan Maslov, who, according to the ministry, was involved in the killings of civilians in Mali in March 2022.

Sanctions have also been imposed on artists and cultural figures "supporting the Kremlin's efforts to russify the Ukrainian culture". Among them are singer Filip Kirkorov, actor Dmitry Kharatyan, producer Joseph Prigozhin, singer Valeria, film director Nikita Mikhalkov, as well as Culture Minister Olga Lyubimova.
