Retail trade in Azerbaijan has grown in 6 months

July 12, Fineko/abc.az. Over Jan-Jun 2023, goods for AZN 26.3 bn were sold to consumers in the retail trade network of Azerbaijan, including foods, beverages and tobacco products for AZN 14.8 bn, non-food products for AZN 11.5 bn.

ABC.AZ reports with reference to the State Statistics Committee that compared with Jan-Jun 2022, retail trade turnover in real terms increased by 3%, including food, beverages and tobacco products by 2.1%, non-food products by 4.2%.

Of the funds spent by customers in the 1st half of this year on goods purchased in the retail chain, 52% accounted for foods, 4.4% for beverages and tobacco products, 12.5% for textiles, clothing and footwear, 5.6% for gasoline and diesel fuel, 4.6% for electrical goods and furniture, 2.4% for pharmaceutical and medical goods, 1% for the purchase of equipment, computers, telecommunications equipment and printed products, 17.5% for other non-food products.
