July 12, Fineko/abc.az. The percentage of women entrepreneurs receiving micro-loans in Azerbaijan is currently 32% against 4% in 1996.
ABC.AZ reports that Zhalya Hajiyeva, the executive director of public association Azerbaijan Microfinance Association, stated about this at a training on women's empowerment in Baku.
She added that today women entrepreneurs are mainly interested in activities in the field of agriculture, but their interest in other sectors of the economy is also growing.
"Women's entrepreneurship can make serious contribution to growth of gross domestic product," Hajiyeva.
