July 7, Fineko/abc.az. The deal between Amazon and iRobot for $1.7 bn has come to the attention of the EU antitrust legislation.

ABC.AZ reports that the European Commission has launched a full-scale investigation and will make a decision on the deal by November 15, 2023.

"The Commission is concerned that the deal will allow Amazon to limit competition in the robot vacuum cleaner market and strengthen its position as an online market provider," the EU representative stated.

With the purchase, Amazon wants to expand its role in the field of smart home.
