Some construction materials observed price growth in Azerbaijan

June 6, Fineko/abc.az. There is an increase in prices for some construction materials in Azerbaijan.

ABC.AZ reports that market research gives grounds to talk about this.

Experts attribute this to the crisis in the Ukrainian markets and the sanctions imposed against Russia.

"Therefore, there are delays in materials sent from these countries due to technical reasons. No serious price increases are expected in the next two weeks. If the Russian-Ukrainian war drags on, construction materials may rise sharply in price," experts comment.

Economists believe the growth of prices in the construction market has been observed since 2022.

According to observations on the market, wood materials on the market immediately rose in price by 30-40%, and thin wood (plywood) - by 2 times, that is, from 20 to 40 manats. Iron materials, mainly rebar, were sold for 30-40% more expensive. Last year, there was an increase in prices for transportation of sand and cement, that is, sand at 12-13 manats per cu m rose sharply to 25-28 manats.
