May 5, Fineko/abc.az. The decree signed by the Prime Minister on March 29 restricts the import into the territory of the Republic of Azerbaijan of automobiles whose age exceeds 10 years on the factory release date (with exception of rare motor vehicles and autombiles temporarily imported into the customs territory).

This decision came into force on April 29.

This decision of the government caused a stir in the automotive market. As a result, old cars and their spare parts began to become more expensive quickly.

According to persons engaged in the sale of cars, cars older than 10 years have risen in price by 5-10%. Sellers said that in the coming months the price will rise even more.

Russian cars produced in 2004-2005 are currently offered on the market for 6,000 manats. However, last year their price was about 4,000 manats. This means that recently old cars have risen in price by at least 50%.
