Capacity of this transport corridor to be increased to 10 million tons

April 20, Fineko/abc.az. The capacity of the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route is to increase to 10 million tons by 2025, ABC.AZ reports, quoting Kazakh Prime Minister Alikhan Smailov.

According to the PM, Kazakhstan is making efforts to develop the Trans-Caspian route.

"Last year, the volume of cargo transported via this route doubled and reached 1.7 million tons. At that, thanks to the road maps signed with Türkiye, Azerbaijan and Georgia, 2 million tons of cargo will be transported via this route this year, and by 2025 its capacity will reach 10 million tons," Smailov said.

Container transportation to Europe using rail and sea transport is carried out along the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route passing through China, Kazakhstan, the Caspian Sea, Azerbaijan, Georgia and Türkiye.
