April 5, Fineko/abc.az. Bernard Arnault, the president of group of companies LVMH (Louis Vuitton Moet Hennessy), has topped the ranking of the richest people on the planet in 2023, according to Forbes magazine.
ABC.AZ reports with reference to Forbes’ website that LVMH's revenue, profit and shares are at an all-time high. Thus, Arno's fortune has increased by $53 bn, to $211 bn, over the past 12 months, which has become the largest profit among billionaires.
Elon Musk, who heads Tesla and SpaceX and owns Twitter, as well as previously occupying the leading position in this list, went down to 2nd place. Compared with 2022, Musk lost up to $39 bn, his fortune is estimated at $180 bn.
The 3rd place with fortune of $114 bn was taken by Jeff Bezos, the founder of the American corporation Amazon. Because of fall in Amazon shares by 38%, Bezos, who previously occupied the 2nd line of the Forbes rating, lost about $57 bn and went down to 3rd place.
The Top 10 leaders of the ranking of the richest people on the planet also included one of the founders and heads of Oracle Corporation, American Larry Ellison ($107 bn); the head of the investment fund of American company Berkshire Hathaway, Warren Buffett ($106 bn), the founder of the American company Microsoft, Bill Gates ($104 bn), American entrepreneur and politician Michael Bloomberg ($94.5 bn), Mexican entrepreneur Carlos Slim Elu ($93 bn), the head of Indian Reliance Industries, Mukesh Ambani ($83.4 bn) and former CEO of American Microsoft, Stephen Ballmer ($80.7 bn).
The last 25th place in the list was taken by one of the founders of Nike, Phil Knight. Zhang Yiming, the founder of ByteDance and TikTok, did not enter the ranking, taking only 26th place.
