Ferry ‘Azerbaijan’ included in list of world’s best ships

March 1, Fineko/abc.az. Ferry vessel ‘Azerbaijan’ has made 322 voyages since its commissioning.

ABC.AZ reports that according to Azerbaijan Caspian Shipping Company CJSC, for the entire time the vessel transported 1,073 railway wagons, 2,596 passenger cars, 10,178 trucks and 11,159 passengers.

Vessel ‘Azerbaijan’ has entered the list of the 50 best ships in the world according to rating "Significant Ship 2021" of the British Royal Society of Marine Engineers (RINA).

On 1 March 2021, President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev took part in the launching ceremony of Ro-Pax-type ferry vessels ‘Azerbaijan’ and ‘Academician Zarifa Aliyev’, built at the Baku Shipyard by order of the Azerbaijan Caspian Shipping Company.

The vessel has length of 154.5 m, width of 17.7 m and height of 7.5 m. To date, it surpasses other ferries in the Caspian Sea in its carrying capacity. The ferry vessel can carry up to 100 passengers, 56 tank cars or 50 heavy-duty road trains.
