13:13 - 9.01.2023

January 9, Fineko/abc.az. At least 6,400 companies went bankrupt in Japan in 2022.

ABC.AZ reports that this indicator has grown in the country for the first time in three years.

In 2021, there were 5% fewer bankruptcies. The total amount of debts of such companies in 2021 was about $8.3 bn and in 2022 – about $17.4 bn.

First of all, the construction and logistics sectors were affected.

The causes are the rise in prices for energy carriers and production materials in connection with the situation in Ukraine.

The shortage of personnel played a role amid the situation with COVID-19.

Japan's economy is world’s third largest economy on nominal GDP and the fourth by purchasing power parity.
