Advertisers are leaving Twitter

11:19 - 5.11.2022

November 5, Fineko/abc.az. Large brands have begun to decide to stop advertising on Twitter, a social network bought by billionaire entrepreneur Elon Musk for $44 billion.

ABC.AZ reports that the first companies to make the decision were General Motors, Volkswagen AG, General Mills and Pfizer.

Concerns that content moderation standards and protections on the platform bought by Elon Musk, pressure from activist groups and concerns about damaging the image of advertising companies have prompted major brands to remove their ads from the social media platform.

About 90% of Twitter's revenue comes from advertisers.
