September 9, Fineko/abc.az. In 2022, about 2,000 Russian citizens received a residence permit in Georgia, ABC.AZ reports with reference to the Agency for the Development of Public Services of Georgia.

A total of 2,824 Russian citizens applied for a residence permit in Georgia in 2022. 2,000 of them were given permits. 475 people were refused, and the appeals of the rest are under consideration.

Of those who received a permit, 1,300 people received temporary residence permit in Georgia, and 700 – for permanent residence.

But the migration of Russians to Georgia is not only connected with obtaining a residence permit, only in the last 6 months of 2022 – from March to August – Russian citizens have created 7,500 companies in Georgia.
