Baku and Ankara mull railway communication

August 24, Fineko/abc.az. Azerbaijani and Turkish officials discussed expanding the route of the Orient Express passenger train to Baku, which currently runs from the capital Ankara to the northeastern province of Kars, Minister of Transport and Infrastructure of Turkiye Adil Karaismailoglu said this.

ABC.AZ reports that, according to him, this may be possible in the coming years.

The minister noted that at the trilateral meeting of the Ministers of Transport and Infrastructure of Azerbaijan, Turkiye and Georgia, held in Tbilisi, along with the opportunities in the field of cargo transportation, the possibilities of passenger transportation were also assessed: "We always discuss issues related to cargo transportation. Why not carry out passenger transportation, when the infrastructure is ready in the coming years?!"
