September 25, Fineko/abc.az. The Central Bank of the Republic of Azerbaijan has released monetary indicator statistics and external liability figures for the banking sector for August 2026.

Citing the Central Bank, the broad money supply in manats (M2) expanded by 10% since the beginning of the year, reaching AZN 44,416.6 million.

According to the data, foreign liabilities of the banking sector grew by AZN 330 million year-to-date to AZN 3,591.8 million. The reported change in external obligations is primarily attributed to an increase in short-term loans obtained from non-resident banks.
