July 15, Fineko/abc.az. The month of Muharram will begin in Azerbaijan on 30 July, ABC.AZ reports, quoting Caucasus Muslims Department’s deputy chairman Fuad Nurullayev. 

He added that according to the calendar presented by the Shemakha Astrophysical Observatory, July 30 is the first day of the month of Muharram: "On this day, the month of Zul-Hijjah ends and the month of Muharram begins. This is the beginning of the year 1444 according to the Hijri – lunar calendar. Because the month of Muharram is the first month of the Hijri calendar.

Ashura Day falls on 8 August. Arbain Day, that is, the 40th day of Imam Hussein's Shahadat, is 17 September."
