April 18, Fineko/abc.az. Azerbaijan imported 17,102 cars of various purposes for $189.4 million for the past 3 months.

ABC.AZ was informed at the State Statistics Committee that this is 19.9% and 10% more against the 2021 same term.

Over Jan-Mar 2021 our country imported 15,539 cars.

Imports of passenger cars increased from 14,219 vehicles in the 1st quarter of last year to 15,934 ones in the 1st quarter of 2022. For Jan-Mar 2022 Azerbaijan imported 3,140 vehicles with internal combustion engines as well as 70 vehicles driven only by electric motors.

The import of trucks for Jan-Mar 2021 amounted to 1,249 vehicles and 1,012 vehicles for Jan-Mar 2022.

Of them, 3,140 (for $27 million) are vehicles with internal combustion engine and an electric motor, and 70 (for $2 million) are electric vehicles. Imports of the former increased by 71.5%, and the latter by 4.1 times.

The import of trucks over Jan-Mar 2021 reached 1,249 vehicles and 1,012 ones for Jan-Mar 2022.
