March 29, Fineko/abc.az. The State Customs Committee has appealed with a request to the government to exempt eco-friendly cars imported into the country from import duties.

ABC.AZ reports that SCC Customs Payments Department’s head Tariel Alverdiyev made the above-said statement when delivering speech at a press conference on the topic "Operation of eco-friendly cars & clean environment in Azerbaijan".

"Currently, those who import these cars in Azerbaijan do not pay only VAT. We’ve proposed to the government that the import duty rate should also be 0%," he explained.
