March 29, Fineko/abc.az. There are currently 33 charging stations for electric vehicles in Azerbaijan.

ABC.AZ reports that Azerbaijani Energy Ministry’s representative Rauf Gurbanov stated about this at a press conference on the theme "Operation of eco-friendly cars and clean environment in Azerbaijan".

He added that 22 charging stations are located in Baku and 11 in the regions (Ganja, Guba, Kurdamir, etc.).

"It is planned to increase the number of charging stations as the number of electric vehicles grows in Azerbaijan. In addition, according to the recommendation of TEPSCO, charging stations should be installed at distance of no more than 25 km from each other. Our Ministry is studying this recommendation," Gurbanov said.

According to Ministry’s rep, renewable energy sources can be used at charging stations in the regions of Azerbaijan.
