March 15, Fineko/abc.az. President Ilham Aliyev delivered speech at the groundbreaking ceremony of the Garadagh solar power plant, held at the Gulistan Palace. The plant with capacity of 230 MW will be constructed in Azerbaijan by Masdar (UAE).

ABC.AZ reports that the head of state stressed that during the period of independence, the population of Azerbaijan has grown from 7 million up to 10 million people.

"This is, of course, a great advantage. At the same time, our industry and economy are growing. For Jan-Feb our country’s GDP grew by 6.7%, including the non-oil sector by 10.1%. The non-oil industry grew by about 21%. These are all the achievements in the post-pandemic period. All this testifies that truly commendable steps are being taken in Azerbaijan in the direction of ongoing reforms, industrialization policy, improving the business environment and attracting foreign investments. I’d like to add that Azerbaijan is one of those countries on a global scale where the external public debt is at a very low level, only $7.4 bn. If we want, we can reset this debt within one day. Of course, international financial organizations, large companies and investors are very interested in Azerbaijan," the president said.
