French Agriculture Minister: Food shortage is expected in world

March 9, Fineko/abc.az. The Russian-Ukrainian crisis has moved into a more serious plane.

ABC.AZ reports that many government officials have already stated that the situation in Ukraine will lead to a global food crisis this year.

French Agriculture Minister Julien Denormandie stressed that France does not depend much on imports of Russian or Ukrainian wheat. He, however, noted that the unstable economic situation will lead to an increase in prices, especially for feed for farm animals.

The French minister said that as a result of the events, prices may rise, and this will also affect livestock feed.

It should be noted that such states as Qatar, Rwanda, Kyrgyzstan, and Egypt depend on wheat supplies from Russia by 80%, and Turkey by 70%.
