March 2, Fineko/abc.az. In compliance with the relevant task of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, national airline AZAL will carry out evacuation flights daily to take out compatriots wishing to return to their homeland in connection with the events in Ukraine, ABC.AZ was informed at AZAL.
Boarding for evacuation flights is free for Azerbaijani citizens.
Earlier, on 1 March, AZAL already performed an evacuation flight, thanks to which 176 Azerbaijani citizens returned to their homeland.
Azerbaijan additionally organizes other charter flights to evacuate compatriots who have left Ukraine for neighboring countries. Thus, 336 Azerbaijani citizens were delivered to Baku by these flights on 28 February and 2 March.
