February 22, Fineko/abc.az. Currently, construction works are underway on the section of the Zangezur corridor that runs through our country. Bridges and tunnels are being built on the road. Work has already begun on asphalting some sections of the road.

ABC.AZ reports that Saleh Mammadov, the chairman of the State Motor Road Agency of Azerbaijan, stated about this at today’s press conference.

He noted that during the occupation Armenian vandals practically destroyed all the infrastructure on the territory of the Karabakh and East Zangezur economic regions, including highways.

"Despite the fact that the 101 km long Victory Road with 2 lanes passes through the rather difficult mountainous and wooded area, the construction was completed within 10 months and was put into operation on 7 November 2021 after the opening ceremony with the participation of the president.

This road starts in the village of Akhmedbeyli at the 149th kilometer of road Hajigabul-Goradiz-Agbend-Zangezur corridor, passes through the village of Alkhanli, Fuzuli airport, the city of Fuzuli, the village of Boyuk Taglar, Topkhana forest, the villages of Chanagchi, Sygnag, Dashalti and reaches the city of Shusha," Mammadov said.
