February 18, Fineko/abc.az. Today, pomegranate grows on 22,700 hectares in Azerbaijan, and intensive gardens have been laid on 18% of the area.

ABC.AZ reports that chairman of the Association of Pomegranate Producers & Exporters Farhad Garashov stated this at a conference in Baku.

According to Garashov, it is planned to restore pomegranate farming in the liberated territories of Azerbaijan.

"Pomegranate production in 2021 increased by 22% (compared with 2016) up to 185,000 tons. During this time, we exported pomegranates for $25,000. In the future, it is planned to increase the export of pomegranate in quantitative terms," he said.
