February 15, Fineko/abc.az. President Ilham Aliyev has signed a decree "On some issues related to preventing the deprivation of parental care and strengthening the protection of children's rights".
ABC.AZ reports that in compliance with the decree, from 1 November 2022 state policy, regulation and state control in the field of foster families, as well as e-registration of the single register of families (persons) wishing to become foster families (foster parents), decision-making on placement in institutions for orphans of children left without parental care, the return of children from the institution to their families or transfer them to foster families using social support mechanisms, as well as taking measures to prevent the admission of children to institutions and the implementation of the powers to develop individual development plans for children staying in institutions for orphaned children are entrusted to the Ministry of Labor & Social Protection of the Population.
