February 9, Fineko/abc.az. In the near future, a permanent tourist representation of Azerbaijan may be opened in Ankara, the capital of Turkey, or the largest city of Istanbul.
ABC.AZ reports that this was informed by adviser to the chairman of the State Tourism Agency Kenan Guluzade.
He said this while representing Azerbaijan at one of the world's largest tourism exhibitions - the Eastern Mediterranean International Tourism & Travel Exhibition (EMITT 2022) in Istanbul.
"The Turkish market is a priority for Azerbaijan. During the pandemic, we received more tourists from Turkey than from any other country. Several official meetings have been held, and we are also interested in promoting Azerbaijani tourism products in other regions of Turkey, including information tours for travel agency employees and media tours to Istanbul, Ankara, Izmir, southeastern and northeastern regions of Turkey. In addition, we are preparing a serious action plan to promote Nakhchivan's tourism opportunities in Turkey. In the near future, Azerbaijan may open a permanent tourism office in Ankara or Istanbul," he emphasized.
