February 8, Fineko/abc.az. Previously, pensions for civil servants were periodically increased when wages increased. Based on general calculations, it was found that with a 20% increase in their wages, only 9.2% of this reduction affected the pensions of individuals.

ABC.AZ informs that the above-said statement was made by Gimalay Mamishov, the chairman of the State Social Protection Fund under the Ministry of Labor & Social Protection of the Population.

According to Mamishov, in previous periods pensions were indexed in fairly large volumes.

"For example, last year indexation was carried out in the amount of 11.4%, in 2020 - 16.6%. That is, the increase in the indexation of pensions of persons receiving pensions on the insurance principle even more exceeds the increase in wages of these persons. Steps are being taken to further strengthen State’s care for these individuals. They switched to the method of increasing pensions in connection with indexation, and not with wages. Starting next year, based on this methodology, amendments to the legislation will be prepared to increase the pensions of these persons,” the chairman said.
