February 3, Fineko/abc.az. Despite the rapid spread of the omicron strain, it is undesirable to resort to strict restrictions again.

ABC.AZ reports that the above-said statement was made by MP Vugar Bayramov. He noted that in recent days there has been a significant increase in the number of infections in neighboring countries: "In Azerbaijan, the number of COVID-19 virus infections has exceeded the psychological threshold of 6,000 cases. In fact, this was expected, given the frequency of infection with the omicron strain. Is there a need for a lockdown? The world is tired of harsh quarantines. Therefore, countries are wary of the lockdown decision. Azerbaijan is among the countries introducing moderate quarantine regime. At present, it is undesirable to resort to strict restrictions again. It is important that the recovery in the real sector and renewed activity continue. In sectors such as services, catering and tourism, activity is already recovering, and a wider turnover is planned for 2022.”
