January 7, Fineko/abc.az. Azerbaijan exports daily 10.5 million cu m of gas to Italy.

ABC.AZ reports that Energy Minister Parviz Shahbazov stated about this at the president-chaired video format meeting dedicated to the results of 2020.

The minister noted that within the framework of OPEC+ restrictions the oil production fell by 8.2% last year. At that, gas extraction increased, and gas exports, in particular, grew by 16.9% up to 13.8 bn cu m.

The main cause of this growth is the Southern Gas Corridor.

"Since 31 December 2020 the transportation of commercial gas to Europe via Trans-Adriatic Pipeline (TAP) has started for the first time," the minister said.
