October 9, Fineko/abc.az. The analysis on seven different scenarios has been carried out in order to make the forecast on the Baku population for 2040.

ABC.AZ informs that according to the analysis carried out with the use of various mathematical models, the city's population will fluctuate between 2.88 - 3.17 million people for the reporting period.

As part of the Baku City General Plan, the highest limit on the results of calculations for population growth scenarios of 3.17 million people by 2040 was adopted.

According to statistics, as of 1 January 2020, the official population of Baku is 2.23 million people.
