March 2, Fineko/abc.az. The number of bank cards in Azerbaijan increased by 15.1% over the past year.

ABC.AZ reports with reference to data from the Central Bank that in the first month of this year the number of payment cards at banks reached 7.713 million. This figure is by 1.163 million or 15.1% more against January 2019.

So, at the beginning of 2019 the number of payment cards was 6.55 million. During this period the number of credit cards decreased by 44,000 or 5% to 873,829. The number of salary cards grew by 14.7% from 2.53 million up to 2.355 million.

And the number of social cards grew from 2.52 million up to 2.707 million, making an increase of 187,000 or 7.4%.
