June 28, Fineko/abc.az. Last year the insurance companies collected premiums for AZN 728 million that still does not reach 1% of Azerbaijan's GDP.

The statement was announced today by executive director of the Center for Analysis of Economic Reforms & Communications Vusal Gasimli at International Insurance Forum "Insurance Market in Azerbaijan: Trends & Opportunities".

He noted that as a result of the introduction of mandatory health insurance in 2020, the insurance premiums for the first time will exceed 1% of GDP.

"For the first time the insurance premiums in Azerbaijan will exceed AZN 1 bn," Gasimli underlined.
