October 27, Fineko/abc.az. A US federal judge has granted a preliminary injunction in favor of Alibaba Group Holding, blocking the Pentagon from denying contracts to firms associated with the Chinese e-commerce giant's lobbying representatives.

The ruling temporarily halts restrictions imposed after the US Department of Defense added Alibaba, alongside Baidu and BYD, to a list of alleged Chinese military-linked companies in June.

The court order allows Alibaba to retain top Washington lobbying firms that also serve US defense contractors, removing a critical hurdle in the tech giant's legal battle to overturn its military designation.
