Ilham Aliyev: 437 Azerbaijani Citizens Fallen Victim to Landmines Since 2020 Patriotic War

Since the end of the Patriotic War in 2020, a total of 437 Azerbaijani citizens—including civilians, military personnel, deminers, journalists, and reconstruction workers—have fallen victim to landmines and unexploded ordnance. As a result, 73 people lost their lives and 364 were severely injured.

President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev made these remarks in his address to the participants of the 4th International Conference on Demining on the topic "Humanitarian Demining for Urban Reconstruction: Setting Standards of Excellence for Safe Settlements."

The head of state emphasized that overall, more than 3,500 Azerbaijani citizens, including women and children, have suffered from landmines since the onset of Armenia's aggression against Azerbaijan.
