August 25, Fineko/abc.az. President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has signed a Decree on additional measures regarding the development of sericulture and carpet weaving, as well as the preservation and promotion of national craft heritage.

Under the decree, "Azeripek" OJSC is being reorganized through a merger into "Azerkhalcha" OJSC, effectively halting the privatization process of state-owned shares in "Azeripek".

Key highlights of the decree:

• Legal Succession: "Azerkhalcha" OJSC stands as the legal successor to "Azeripek", assuming all its rights, obligations, and property.

• Structural Transfer: To organize breeding work in sericulture, the Gakh District Breeding Sericulture Station under the Ministry of Agriculture is transferred along with its property to "Azerkhalcha" OJSC.

• Scope of Activity: The company operates as a commercial legal entity ensuring production, processing, sales, export, raw material base development, and unified coordination across sericulture and carpet weaving sectors.

• Governance: Day-to-day management of the entity is conducted by a 3-member Management Board consisting of a Chairman and 2 Deputy Chairmen.
